Wired Different is being built by Cody, a journeyman electrician licensed in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Cody is currently working toward contractor licensing for Wired Different, beginning in Idaho, with plans to pursue contractor licensing in Oregon and Washington in the future.
I'm a Journeyman Electrician licensed in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, with over a decade of experience in the industry. I've been working in the trades since I was 16 — which gave me a deep appreciation for blue-collar work and the people who keep this country running.
While I've developed skills across many trades over the years, electrical work is where I found the greatest challenge, satisfaction, and sense of purpose. I'm currently working toward contractor licensing for Wired Different, beginning in Idaho, with plans to pursue contractor licensing in Oregon and Washington in the future.
Every time lapse you see of me doing electrical work — I also handle all of the drywall repair, drywall texture and finishing, and painting myself. The goal is always to make it look like the work never happened. No trace of the install, just clean walls and a finished product.
I own a 5th Generation Toyota 4Runner and I'm passionate about everything from modifications and upgrades to exploring new products and ideas. On Wired Different you'll find 4Runner builds, installation projects, and honest feedback on what's worth the investment — and what's not worth the headache.
The overlap between being an electrician and building 4Runners is bigger than most people think. Wiring a light bar, a dual battery system, or a custom accessory circuit is just another install. You learn the principles once and they apply everywhere.
Before pursuing electrical work full-time, I spent several years creating music — writing, recording, mixing, and mastering everything myself. I don't produce the beat, but I always give full credit to the producer. I had 100+ songs online at one point, but took them down due to some legal issues and a change in direction. Everything I make now sends a positive message, is about overcoming struggles, or has a faith-based element to it.
I used to go by CNote — a nickname that came naturally from a close friend when I first started making music. The streaming profiles still carry that name for now. But when I get back in the studio, I'll be going by Kilawatt — kill from my last name, watt from the trade. Felt like the right fit.
Music is still a passion and I plan to pick it back up. When that happens, you'll find it here alongside everything else.
I'm a responsible, law-abiding gun owner and I enjoy getting out to the range. As I pick up new attachments and accessories, I'll be documenting those as well — honest first impressions, range day footage, and whatever comes with it.
This isn't a firearms channel — it's just another part of who I am. The same way I document the electrical work and the 4Runner builds, I'll document this too. Real content, no fluff.
Everything on this channel ties back to one thing — continuous improvement. The trade, the builds, the music, the range days — none of it means much if you're not also working on yourself.
That includes the gym. I may start documenting workouts, fitness progress, and whatever else is part of staying sharp physically and mentally. Not a fitness influencer — just a guy who understands that the work you put in on yourself shows up in everything else you do.
Wired Different was never just about the trade. It's about the mindset. That's the thread running through all of it.
"Taking pride in your craft, building things the right way, staying curious, and never being afraid to do things a little differently."
Wired Different was created to showcase the things I'm passionate about: electrical work, blue-collar culture, tools, fabrication, vehicles, creativity, and continuous self-improvement. Time-lapse videos, project builds, product reviews, 4Runner mods, and whatever new challenge captures my interest next.
